The DDS provides information on several affordable housing programs available to the public. They are administered by public and private agencies that can assist persons and agencies with acquiring affordable housing.

Housing Development Funds
The Los Angeles County Development Authority (LACDA) is committed to building better lives for all residents, including people with special needs or disabilities. The HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) Program funds can be used to assist in the development and construction or renovation of special needs housing. In many cases, developers and operators of special needs housing are non-profit agencies that specialize in helping certain populations of people. The LACDA also works as a member of the County’s Special Needs Housing Alliance to continually improve the quantity and quality of special needs housing.

We offer a variety of services for people with disabilities, including programs for low-income homeowners to ensure their homes are safe and healthy, and programs to ensure that affordable housing and related programs offered by the City are accessible and available to people with disabilities.

Subsidized Housing For Independent Living
Through the Section 811 Supportive Housing for Persons with Disabilities program, HUD provides funding to develop and subsidize rental housing with the availability of supportive services for very low- and extremely low-income adults with disabilities.
